New Employees

As a new VCU employee, you are joining a thriving community of people who learn and work together. Each of us plays a part in creating a culture of integrity and compliance, and the Integrity and Compliance Office is here to help you as you learn your role.

As a new employee, you can do your part to contribute to our culture in a positive way by doing the following:

• Completing the onboarding training, and all future mandatory training, in a timely manner
• Becoming familiar with the Code of Conduct and university policies
• Learning how to comply with regulations specific to your role and unit, and working closely with your manager to ensure you’re aware of all of the policies that apply to you
• Asking questions when you have them, to ensure understanding
• Speaking up when you have a concern, and knowing how to do that 
• Following the Duty to Report and Protection from Retaliation policy when you observe or experience misconduct
