Government regulators

What to do when you are contacted by a government regulator?

Impromptu site visits are routinely part of state and federal agencies’ protocols when visiting universities to request information or investigate a complaint or concern. If your office is ever visited by a state or federal regulator, scheduled or not, you should be cordial and let the regulator, or agent, know that the intent of the University is to cooperate fully. Immediately contact your supervisor and the Integrity and Compliance Office (828-2336) and/or your area’s compliance partner.

If documents such as a search warrant, subpoena or other legal notice, are presented the Office of University Counsel should be contacted immediately 828-6610.
